Abstract:		 Headland Archaeology (UK) Ltd undertook a geophysical (magnetometer) survey covering 5 hectares on land west of Vicarage Lane, Wherstead, where a commercial development is proposed. The survey has not identified any anomalies of definite archaeological potential. Six anomalies (two ditches and four pits) are interpreted as of possible archaeological potential although this interpretation is tentative. Overall the site is assessed to be of low archaeological potential on the basis of the geophysical survey.
