Abstract: |
PCAS Archaeology Ltd. were commissioned by Larkfleet Homes to carry out an archaeological earthworks survey in advance of development on land to the north-west of South Wootton School, off Edward Benefer Way, South Wootton, Norfolk, in support of an application for planning permission. The survey identified a number of features of archaeological significance comprising an extensive area of ridge-and-furrow earthworks to the east of the site which is indicative of medieval strip farming. However, no conclusive remains of the Saltern mound, located by aerial photography to the southwest of the site, were identified during the course of these works |
