IntroductionThe digital archive of the publications of the Northumberland Archaeological Group (NAG) has been created to mark the 50th Anniversary of the founding of the group in 1973 (see Northern Archaeology 23 for more information). The archive is a celebration of the achievements of NAG members and other colleagues, and stands as a monument to their enthusiasm for archaeological fieldwork and research.
Importantly, this internet platform now makes this research more accessible to anyone interested in aspects of the archaeology and history of Northumberland, with the occasional foray beyond NAG’s core geographical area. Initially, this NAG research was published in the magazine-format NAG Newsletter, and subsequently the more formal journal publication Northern Archaeology. Both of these publications are now accessible via the ADS Library
NAG would like to thank the generous support of Roger Miket and Richard Carlton who were instrumental in collecting and developing the archive for digital dissemination and in joint- partnership with the Marc Fitch Fund, resourcing its on-line availability. In addition, members of the NAG committee have supported this venture to ensure that the archive becomes available to everyone, and to create a fitting tribute to the hard work and dedication of the NAG membership.
