CIfA Tea Break Talk – OASIS Explained

Last week, Dr Nicky Garland, ADS Training and Communications Manager, gave an online talk for the CIfA Information Management Special Interest Group (IMSIG).

Speaking on ‘OASIS Explained: Your Guide to the UK’s Historic Environment Investigation Database’, the online talk provided an introduction to OASIS, the online system for reporting investigations into the UK’s historic environment. The talk attempted to clarify common misconceptions, demonstrate the system’s key functions, and explain how OASIS connects fieldwork documentation with archives and research resources. 

The topic drew a large crowd, breaking all previous records for CIfA tea break registration and attendance! More than 80 people were in attendance to hear Nicky discuss all things OASIS.
