Job opportunities – Communications and Training Assistant and Service Manager (HSDS)

We are excited to announce that we are recruiting for two new posts here at the ADS: a Communications and Training Assistant and Service Manager (HSDS).  Both of these positions are exciting opportunities to join a growing and world-leading digital repository that provides digital data archiving services for UK archaeology and heritage.

These roles have come about as a result of a successful £14.4m bid to the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) by a consortium led by ADS to develop and host a Heritage Science Data Service (HSDS). Keep an eye on the ADS website for further opportunities related to this grant in the coming months.

Communications and Training Assistant

This role will support the ADS Training and Communications Manager, Dr Nicky Garland, and others in promoting and providing information about both the ADS and HSDS. Key tasks include maintaining the ADS and HSDS websites, promoting both services by generating content for a wide range of social media, and providing text and images for reports and new stories. The successful applicant will also provide logistical support for the development of training materials, including both text and video resources, and assist in the organisation and implementation of events.

Service Manager (HSDS)

This role will be responsible for the establishment and operational delivery of an effective Heritage Science Data Service (HSDS) for users and depositors. Liaising with funders and partners, and working with the ADS / HSDS Director and Assistant Director, the Service Manager will manage the strategic development of this new service. They will be expected to represent the HSDS at national and international level and to ensure the successful integration of the HSDS within the existing portfolio of ADS activities and services.
