Description: Near complete; L total 38.9mm; L blade29.0mm; Diam head 6.3mm; Diam suspension loop 2.5mm; W blade max 8.1mm; W across bifid tip 3.3mm. Copper-alloy nail cleaner; flat circular head/loop with central circular perforation for suspension; neck is thickened; head and blade are oriented in the same plane, with narrower neck inbetween; upper end of blade is thickened, and has rounded shoulders; blade tapers away from the upper end to approx the mid point of its length, beyond which it has parallel sides maintaing a regular width; sides flare slightly at the bifid tip; ends of prongs are worn/broken. Copper-alloy folded sheet object of unknown identity; if unfolded the fragment is roughly cruciform; lower terminal may be complete, narrowing abruptly to form a tab; cross 'arms' bifurcated and the resulting strips are recurving and tapering to a tip; one of the four strips is missing; upper terminal is broken; second fragment joins here and is itself broken at the terminal; object has been folded once across its length; and the two arms then folded inwards to lay on top of the folded length; no evidence for fixings.

Copper-alloy strap end fragment; plate-like; lower end is heart shaped; beyond the heart the plate continues as a rectangular strip; long sides are partly scalloped and partly broken; original outline of this portion of the object is now unclear; at the upper end the strap end finishes with a rounded terminal with a single circular perforation; late Roman; parallel for the type but not for this exact example in Bishop & Coulston (1993, 175 fig 126 no.10); see also example from Catterick with openwork curls along the edges (Lentowicz 2002, 65 fig 256 no.207).
