Description: Complete; L/H 42.8mm; L;H plate 40mm; W plate 26.8mm; Th plate 6mm; max Th 13.4mm; int W loops 11.5-7mm; int Th loops 5.5mm. Copper-alloy harness fitting; openwork trompetenmuster-style plate, comprised of four conjoined double-ended trumpets; two integrally cast rectangular straps on the reverse, probably for a horizontal strap that run behind the mount across the shortest axis; at one end there is a rivet on the reverse with an expanded foot. This may have attached a second strap or harness pendant. Oldenstein illustrates similar, though not identical fittings from the German limes (1976, taf 69, nos. 908-920).

Robust small form, proportions similar to a Colchester derivative.
