Introduction
This collection comprises images and scanned site records from an archaeological evaluation at Shirebrook Crematorium undertaken by Oxford Archaeology North between June and July 2022.
The trial trench evaluation consisted of thirteen trenches, testing the anomalies and 'blank' areas identified during a geophysical survey. Five of the trenches were 50m long by 2m wide, whilst eight of the trenches were 30m long by 2m wide. The results of the investigation indicated some undated activity in the eastern end of the proposed development area, with an undated posthole and ditch recorded in trenches 12 and 13, respectively. No further archaeological remains were encountered during this evaluation
