Description | This collection comprises reports, images, a CAD drawing, spreadsheets and site records from a 3.25 ha archaeological excavation at Highfields Farm, Findern, South Derbyshire. Work was carried out by Wessex Archaeology between January 2017 and June 2017 as a condition of planning permission, in advance of a housing development at Highfields Farm. The majority of the remains date to the Romano-British period and comprise an extensive system of rectilinear ditched enclosures. Other finds included an isolated pit containing Bronze Age pottery and two near complete Late Iron Age roundhouse gullies. |
