Introduction
This collection comprises images, site records, a report, and CAD data from an archaeological evaluation at the land west of Bridgeman's Green, Latchingdon, Essex. This work was undertaken by Colchester Archaeological Trust from November to December 2020 in advance of the construction of 52 new dwellings, including parking and utilities.
The site was located in the north of the historic settlement of Latchingdon. Sixteen features were excavated, one pit, two ditch sections, which can be attributed to a boundary present on the 1880 Ordnance Survey map, and 13 probable natural features. The majority of the features excavated had leached out fills, irregular edges, and undulating bases. These characteristics, combined with the lack of finds recovered, likely indicates a natural origin.
