Introduction
This collection consists of geophysical data, a CAD vector drawing, report, and GIS data from a geophysical survey at the Research Computer Centre, Harwell Campus, Chilton, Oxfordshire. Works were conducted by SUMO GeoSurveys in November 2023.
A magnetometer survey of 2.5 hectares recorded magnetic responses that have been interpreted as being of archaeological interest. These include ditch-like anomalies and trends that could form a partial enclosure which extends beyond the survey area, and a pit-like anomaly. A linear band of increased response may be of archaeological interest, or it could be a former field boundary. Other uncertain trends have been plotted in both survey areas which are probably due to a combination of underlying geological variations, agricultural practices and other modern processes. A buried services has also been detected in Area 1.
