Abstract: Brings together all available lithic material, with a full typological discussion in the N British context, and uses it with the environmental evidence to build models of land use and settlement for the valley and for the north-east. The evidence suggests planned exploitation and ordered siting of settlement in relation to available resources. More work is needed on the extent of Meso clearance and on microwear analysis. Inventory of material (180 pp).
