Abstract:
Northamptonshire Archaeology carried out archaeological excavation on 46sq m of land, the site for a single-storey extension to the north of Holy Trinity Church, Orton Longueville, Peterborough. The remains of a substantial stone wall aligned west to east and parallel to the 12th-century parish church were uncovered, together with lime mortar and painted wall plaster. Other finds include a stone-lined drain and gravel paths associated with 19th-century alterations and additions to the medieval church and grave monument remains. Articulated human skeletal remains were encountered between 0.35m - 0.7m below the ground surface.
