Abstract:		 A planning application was submitted for the construction of 18 dwellings and associated access roads and infrastructure. The site of the development lay directly north of a field which contained important Late Saxon and medieval settlement remains. Planning permission was granted subject to archaeological conditions. Following a staggered three-day selective recording brief, no significant archaeological deposits were exposed. As a result of the recording brief it was concluded that the settlement remains exposed south of the development site did not extend to the Kingsway site itself. [Au(abr)]
