Abstract: Much of the plan was recovered and three periods of military occupation were distinguished at this Tayside fort. Period 1, Flavian (Agricola) was for a quingenary cohors equitata, with exceptionally large granaries. In periods 2 and 3 (Antonine I, c 142, and Antonine II after a short evacuation c 158) the defences were remodelled each time and a different garrison installed, each having elements of two cohortes equitatae. The complex series of annexes seen from the air were not excavated. Many specialist reports.
