Abstract: A planning application for demolition of existing warehouse and workshop and erection of 18 artists' studios and 33 flats was approved subject to archaeological works. A desk study and subsequent watching brief was carried out. No significant archaeological remains were observed. A truncated probable former ploughsoil was found to overlie river terrace sands and gravels.
