Abstract: |
Headland Archaeology (UK) Ltd undertook an archaeological evaluation at Connaught Barracks, Dover, between 15th and 31st of August 2016. The evaluation was commissioned by WYG Group, in advance of residential development and in response to Conditions (27a) and (27d) of planning permission DOV/15/00260. The evaluation found the remains of a Second World War trench system and a series of brick laid surfaces, concrete footings and landscaping features relating to former structures associated with Connaught Barracks. No other archaeological remains were present in the trenches. |
