Abstract:		 Headland Archaeology (UK) Ltd undertook an archaeological excavation at the site of the proposed City Centre Opportunity Site South, Victoria Street, St Albans. The work was commissioned by St Albans City and District Council in response to Conditions 23 and 24 of planning permission granted for application No. 5/2017/1060. The investigation revealed evidence for foundation levels of late-nineteenth century buildings located on the street front adjacent to the former police station on Victoria Street.
