Abstract:
In November 2019 a programme of archaeological monitoring and recording was undertaken by Humber Field Archaeology during the construction of a replacement dwelling and garage at 7 The Old Forge, Ermine Street, Appleby, North Lincolnshire. Despite the being in an area with a high potential for the presence of significant archaeological deposits, no archaeological deposits or features were evident within the exposed sections or bases of the excavated foundation trench for the house plot, and no archaeological artefacts were evident amongst the spoil generated.
