Abstract: |
A programme of phased archaeological works consisting of a monitored top-soil strip and archaeological evaluation was required by Alasdair Warnock on the construction of a new dwelling on land at Bagmoors Farm, Pettinain, South Lanarkshire (Planning Reference CL/18/0027). An archaeological monitored topsoil strip was undertaken as a monitored top-soil strip of the housing plot under constant archaeological supervision. The area of the topsoil strip was situated on level ground within an agricultural field. Excavation revealed a well sorted topsoil ranging from 0.30m to 0.40m in depth. The topsoil immediately overlaid a natural subsoil of mid light orangey brown sands and gravels. No significant archaeology was uncovered |
