We are excited to announce that we are recruiting for two new posts at the ADS – a Collections Development Officer and Digital Archives Assistant. Both of these positions are exciting opportunities to join a world-leading digital repository that provides digital data archiving services for UK archaeology. More details are provided below.
These roles have been funded due to our recent success securing funding from the PACE (Partnership acceleration and commercial engagement) initiative from the University of York.
Collections Development Officer
This role will play a crucial part in developing the ADS commercial client base, increasing commercial revenue, forging new partnerships and strengthening our reputation as a world-leading digital archive for the UK’s national heritage sector. Supporting the Collections Development Manager, the Collections Development Officer will conduct market research, cost analysis, aid in the development of new cost models and provide customer support such as providing and following up on quotations.

Digital Archives Assistant
This role is an opportunity to become one of the next generation of skilled digital archivists. An entry level position, with training provided, this role is suited for someone who is at an early stage of their career. The main responsibilities of the role are to carry out routine administrative and IT processes to facilitate the smooth running of the ADS and support our team of Digital Archivists. It is anticipated that the post-holder will focus on archiving the digital outputs from commercial projects, but with opportunities to be involved in ADS research projects.
