The Historic Environment (Wales) Act 2016 augments the ''Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Areas Act 1979'' and the ''Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990'' and gives Welsh Ministers certain additional powers in relation to Scheduled Monuments and Listed Buildings. It also places a statutory duty on Welsh Ministers to maintain Welsh HERs.
