This programme aims to inform landscape conservation strategies in the context of planning and agricultural policies (see also [E.5|SectionE.5]). One aim is to help landowners to commission historic landscape surveys to inform 'whole farm management plans' under the Countryside Stewardship (now Environmental Stewardship) and Environmentally Sensitive Area (ESA) programmes of Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).
