I: A further component of the Roman coin hoard from Agden, Cheshire and a possible implication

In 1957 a hoard of Roman coins of the mid-third century AD comprising about 2500 debased antoniniani was found at Woolstencroft Farm, three miles west of Altrincham. Further coins that most likely originated from the hoard have been found near the original findspot in the ensuing decades, and these are described briefly alongside the main hoard in this article. Comparisons are drawn with other substantial coin hoards of the mid-third century recorded in the North West. The implications of the hoards with regard to the contemporary political mood in Britain are considered. LD
II: Town Farm Quarry, Norley, Cheshire

Archaeological monitoring and subsequent excavation at the site of a quarry extension at Norley in Cheshire revealed two areas of heavily plough-truncated features. These consisted of slots, ditches and lines of pits delineating a series of enclosures. Some limited structural remains were noted within one of the enclosures; pottery finds indicated a Romano-British date for these features. The pottery assemblage, although small, was of some significance and suggested either relatively high status for the site or a preference for Roman eating habits.
III: Roman Middlewich: reassessing its form, function and chronology

Thematic review of the state of knowledge of Roman Middlewich, looking at results from a large number of developer-funded excavations undertaken to the north-east of the town centre since 1990. Available results from the significant body of work predating 1990 are also drawn together and possible future directions for research are highlighted.
