It’s that time of year again -The ADS are thrilled to publish the 2023-24 Annual Report!
Since our founding in 1996, the changes to the digital world has meant the ADS as an organisation has had to navigate a lot of change. Therefore, it is important both for the ADS and wider community to be able to reflect.
Each year we publish our annual report which contains an assessment of our mission to provide long term digital preservation, to support access, innovation, and research. As the leading accredited repository for archaeology and historic environment data in the UK, our annual report highlights everything the ADS and Internet Archaeology have achieved in the last year. The reporting period is from 1st August 2023 to 31st July 2024.
In this edition, some of our key achievements include:
- Receiving £15m grant to establish the Heritage Science Data Service
- Being the first ever digital-only archive service to receive an Archive Service Accreditation from The National Archives
- Receiving an impressive 1129 new archives, and releasing 669 new collections.
- 44 articles published in Internet archaeology over the past 12 months
The annual report is an opportunity to celebrate our wider community from our staff, partners, depositors, and any user of our service. Thank you for making this year so successful and we hope you enjoy reading our report.
