The ADS would like to invite our users to take part in a survey titled: “Online dissemination of 3D bioarchaeological data: an exploration of ethics, user preferences, and contextualisation in an official digital archive setting.”
This study explores user preferences for the publication of data depicting human skeletal remains on the Archaeology Data Service for sites based in the UK. These depictions include photographs and drawings of human skeletal remains as well 3D models of human skeletons in archaeological contexts.
This study is being conducted by Dr Solange Bohling who is a current MSc candidate in Digital Archaeology at the University of York. The results of this survey will be used in Solange’s MSc dissertation and in other academic work (e.g. conference presentations or journal articles).
For more information or if you would like to take part please visit the survey webpage.
Please be aware that this research project addresses potentially sensitive subjects related to death and the online survey contains images of human skeletal remains from archaeological settings. Please do not continue with this survey if you are uncomfortable viewing human skeletal remains.
