The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 Desk-based assessment on a site currently occupied by three industrial units built in the 1960s. The site lies c. 200m from the Roman road between the forts of Doncaster and Tadcaster, and Romano-British cropmarks have been identified within the study area. However, no cropmarks and very little significant material have been found close to the site itself, and other archaeological projects in the immediate area have been fruitless: the Romano-British settlement appears to have lain on or outside the northern boundary of the study area. The site appears to have been agricultural land from the post-Roman period to the mid-20th century. Although it is possible that a Romano-British field system extended across the site, it is unlikely that worthwhile remains survived the 20th century development. No further archaeological intervention is recommended.
