Abstract: |
Allen Archaeology Limited was commissioned by Scorer and Hawkins on behalf of Mr and Mrs Dewar to carry out a photographic building survey of Limestone Hill Mill in Tickhill, South Yorkshire. The site comprised a three story watermill with an associated millrace and dam which is thought to date to c.1800. There is however a historic legal document from the late 1600s proposing a possibility it may be earlier. Many of its original features still remain, however the cog house and plastered walls and metal waterwheel may be later additions. |
