As reported back in March, the ADS is excited to announce a remarkable update to the ADS archive pages, which greatly enhance how our users experience our collections.
This update, which goes live today, boasts a series of new features that provide a more accessible, intuitive and user-friendly experience.
Some of the improvements to the Archive pages include:
- An updated style to match the new ADS website, and which meets web accessibility requirements.
- The addition of infinite scroll, the ability to some image collections by keyword, and an updated map interface (using Leaflet).
- The ability to preview both video and audio files before you download and to preview images in an updated object metadata page.
A significant area of development has been updates to the Collection Metadata pages, which now forms the home page for each collection. These pages now more closely reflect FAIR data requirements, which will ensure that the collections we hold and maintain will be easier to reuse for all ADS users.
