Abstract:
A geophysical survey has been carried out as part of an archaeological evaluation of the site of a proposed extension to the existing Whitemoor Haye Quarry at Alrewas, Staffordshire. Findings from the survey are limited mainly to linear markings of variable quality, some of which can be identified with former boundaries and cropmarks. Various individual magnetic anomalies which could represent silted pits (as may be found at ancient occupation sites) have also been outlined (in red), but they are sparse and widely dispersed, with no identifiable clusters which might suggest the presence of a group of archaeological features.
