In January 2023 the ADS hosted a workshop as part of the Archaeology Audience Network titled ‘Archives and Audiences: Engaging Public and Community Archaeology with the ADS’.
The workshop brought together AAN partners and other practitioners who engage in public and community archaeology. The workshop explored the resources held and produced by the ADS and what they may offer both community archaeology practitioners and the audiences that they engage with. The outline of the workshop can be downloaded from this link.
As part of the workshop ADS staff members gave several presentations, which are available to download below:

As part of the workshop the participants discussed the ways in which ADS resources could be useful for community archaeology practitioners and what barriers there would be to use them with their audiences. This collaboration was undertaken using padlet and the results are available to download below.

- What barriers are there for your audiences in using ADS resources?
A report detailing the results of the workshop will be available soon. In addition, we are planning a series of future workshops in collaboration with the Council for British Archaeology (CBA) and Museum of London Archaeology (MOLA). Please keep an eye on the News and Events page for further details as they emerge.
