The ADS has several methods by which data can be deposited into our repository for long-term preservation and dissemination as detailed below.  

Ingest 

The primary method of deposit with ADS is via Ingest, our cost effective online deposit system designed to streamline the process of depositing data and associated metadata with ADS. Ingest is designed to:

• Support all our accepted file formats
• Facilitate all types of deposits (small to large)
• Automate file level metadata using a single core metadata template
• Validate your files and metadata during deposition

ADS-easy

ADS-easy is our legacy data upload system. While our new Ingest system is being rolled out ADS-easy will still be available to use to deposit small to medium datasets of up to 1000 files of specific formats. ADS-easy should only be used by existing depositors. All new depositors should deposit via Ingest.

Large datasets

While Ingest has been designed to accept large deposits, for collections exceeding 100,000 files, 1Tb of data, or for large multifaceted infrastructure projects, depositors should contact us in advance for costing advice and guidance. This is required because additional fees may be applicable to facilitate the project management and dissemination of more complex collections. 

Library datasets

For Library datasets, such as journals, monograph series and collections of reports, which will be indexed and disseminated by the Library, should be deposited directly with the ADS Collections Team. Please contact the ADS directly to discuss the deposition of ADS library datasets.
